Transparent Pricing and Fees

For all patients, bulk billing applies to Medicare and DVA eligible consultations and treatments.

A private fee will apply if a consultation or treatment is not eligible for Medicare or DVA bulk billing.

Where a private fee is applicable it will be discussed with you as soon as known and prior to the consultation or treatment.

A private fee will also be applicable to non-government supplied vaccines, medical consumables, and some procedures.

Items that are not eligible for Medicare bulk billing include employment, workers compensation and insurance related consultations and treatments,
in addition to medical reports or examinations for superannuation, sports and occupational licenses.

Medicare

Eligible Medicare services may be bulk billed by your practitioner
as outlined above.
Always bring your Medicare card to your appointment please.
 

DVA Gold / White card holders

DVA card holders will be bulk billed for all eligible services.
 

Workers compensation and other insurances

Where possible for approved claims, we will invoice the insurer directly.
When it is not possible to invoice the insurer directly, you will need to pay for the service at time of consultation.
If this is the case, we will issue a receipt so that you can arrange reimbursement from your insurer.

Items that are privately billed:

  • Pre-employment medical reports
  • Workers' compensation & insurance consultations
  • Occupational drivers licence medical reports
  • Consumables

The private fee is payable at the time of the consultation for these services. Please discuss with the Reception team at the time of booking.

You will be advised of any private fees or out-of-pocket expenses prior to treatment. These fees are payable at the time of your consultation.


Frequently Asked Questions

Does bulk billing apply to me?

Yes, if you hold a current Medicare or DVA card. Bulk billing applies to all eligible Medicare or DVA claimable items.

What types of appointments are available?

New Patients
If you are new to our practice, please book a ‘New Patient’ appointment for your first visit.
 

Standard Appointments

A standard appointment is suitable if you need to discuss a simple or general health concern.

 

Long Appointments

If you have complex health needs and/or wish to discuss more than one health concern, please book a ‘Long Appointment’.

 

Test Results
You will need to book a follow up appointment to receive your test results, unless your doctor advises otherwise. For this follow up appointment, please book a ‘Standard Appointment’.

What accessibility facilities does the Practice have?

Our practice has been designed with easy access in mind. There are ramps located at both the front and read entrances.

How can I get in touch with the Practice?

Whilst the Practice is not yet open to the public, you are welcome to contact us.

When is the Practice open?

From Monday to Friday, our practice will open at 8:30 am, with the last appointments occurring at 5:30 pm.

Can I use public transport to get to and from the Practice?

Yes. For your convenience, there is a bus stop on Lake Road, directly in front of the Private Hospital.
 
Valiant Health is located in the Grange Medical Complex, which is only a short 100m walk across the front carpark.
 
The bus timetables can be checked at Busways.

Where is the parking for the Practice?

The main parking is accessible from the front entrance to the Grange Medical Complex, located adjacent to the Private Hospital, on 82 Lake Road.
 
There is additional parking available via the rear entrance to the Grange Medical Complex via 9 Parker Street.

Our practice is located within the Grange Medical Complex. You can find us at Suite 6, within the complex, at 82 Lake Road, Port Macquarie.

I was injured at work and am claiming WorkCover. Will you bulk bill my appointment?

No, as work-related injuries cannot be bulk billed through Medicare.
 
Depending on the status of your claim, we may be able to send the invoice direct to the insurer.
 
In instances where we cannot invoice the insurer, you will be required to pay for the services provided at the time of the appointment. An invoice and receipt will be provided for you to claim reimbursement from the insurer.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my GP appointment?

If you become aware that you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us immediately.
